Over the past year, I was quite inactive on my channel. I uploaded videos inconsistently on a bi-weekly or monthly basis. I also lacked some enthusiasm, editing skills, and character in my videos. Since COVID-19 first became widespread throughout the world, it gave me an excuse to focus a bit more on YouTube as schools were switched to remote learning, and many businesses shut down due to the pandemic. In the Spring, I started to double down on my videos by setting up an upload schedule. Instead of posting videos a couple of times a month, I started to post at least two videos a week. This is because my university had spring classes closed and switched to remote learning to reduce the spread of COVID. Including all their facilities such as their sports arenas, libraries, student union, rec center, and many more. While it was a strange, strenuous year dealing with a pandemic, it did give me some hope in my channel as I've never been very active for the past couple of years.
Compared to 2019's channel statistics, views and watch time became quite stagnant until the end of the year. I posted 12 videos at the time and one of them is still gaining views to this date. The video, Traffic Tool Mod & Script AI Manager | BeamNG.drive started slowly and began to take off within a couple of days. Even though it is a poorly edited video as it has a lot of silent parts, poor audio quality, and lack of enthusiasm. It currently has over 19,000 views and is the 8ᵗʰ viewed video on my channel. If the video was higher in quality, it probably would have had more views as YouTube would recommend it more as their algorithm would state that people are "watching it." Not just viewing it for 30 seconds and then leaving to watch another video. In terms of views, watch time, and subscribers gained, I've earned:
For 2020's statistics, I've published 90 videos which is 7.5 times more than in 2019. Views are down from last year which I'm not too worried about. So, I gained a total of:
It's been a rough year for all, from dealing with a pandemic with over 300,000 lives lost, to a hectic presidential election. I have many positive outcomes for the future of my channel and it's all thanks to you! While I have been gaining views and subs like nothing before, there still much more room to grow. Despite college classes starting up again for the Spring in a few weeks, It shouldn't slow me down. Hopefully it won't... Thanks again, I really appreciate the growing support for this channel!
